USB Power Delivery Controller
The EJ898B is a USB Power Delivery (PD) controller which is compliant with USB Power Delivery Specification Revision 2.0. The PD controller can negotiate voltage, current and direction with PD link partner to transfer up to 100W of power over Type-C connector and cable.
The EJ898B can support USB PD Alternate mode applications, especially the DisplayPort application which is compliant with VESA DisplayPort Alt Mode on USB Type-C Standard V1.0 specification. Embedded with HPD mechanism and some GPIO pins for different pin assignments, the EJ898B can be easily applied to every DisplayPort application.
The EJ898B can be configured by serial EEPROM or system controller to select different modes. They are Provider, Consumer, Provider/Consumer and Consumer/Provider swap mode.
The EJ898B integrates 3.3V to 1.8V LDO to reduce component count and make the most of PCB space.
